Cat Scares Burglar - 10 July 1907 - St Ives, Huntingdon

A common domestic cat is the hero of St. Ives, Huntingdon, for saving the house wherein it dwelt from the depredations of an intruder. The man himself told the story in the police court, when he declared that he had been prevented from committing burglary by the strange action of the cat. "I did not go upstairs to search for any valuables," he explained, "because the cat followed me about like a dog, making a vicious noise, and I was afraid that it would fly at me."
