The Beer Poisoning Epidemic - 3 December 1900 – Darlaston, Staffordshire

TWO HUNDRED NEW CASES

There have been up to date a thousand cases of beer poisoning. Two hundred fresh cases were reported yesterday. The area affected has extended to Leeds and Huddersfield, in Yorkshire, and Darlaston in Staffordshire. The cause of the poisoning has been traced to a Liverpool firm brewing with sugar and bad sulphuric acid.
